What DO You Do?
When was the last time you told someone you know about your business or what it is you do? I ask this because I too, have been guilty of letting the people I love stay in the dark about what it is I particularly do and why it’s important. There are many people who are in our day to day lives who have no clue what it is we do and it’s our jobs to let them in. It’s no secret yet we are sometimes hesitant to share for fear of boastfulness or perhaps, rejection.
Beware of Empty Sales Funnels
We all have hidden networks of people who can help boost our business and yet we all try to fit into the same box of individuals who share the common string of business. Reaching people outside your box may be the best thing for your business and your network. It’s good to go to trade shows and join groups of individuals who all do the same thing but by going that route we will eventually exhaust that list of people and be stuck with an empty sales funnel. We must include the people in our day to day lives with what our business is in order to stay on top of our game, or business.
Your Very Own Fleet of Brand Ambassadors
There are a lot of ways in which we can involve people who aren’t in our business to get them to become our own brand ambassadors. Why tell the people you love or know your business? Simple, Leads. When someone knows how your business ticks and what it is you’re specifically looking for, they will instinctively begin to look for that individual. 2 or 3 or more heads, are better than the 1 you have right? They may not all be warm leads but I can assure that your network of friends, family members, and people you see on a day to day basis know someone who could use your business or product. Tapping into your hidden network. So you’ve told them what it is you do and what you’re looking for, now what? Follow up. I’m not suggesting you hound anyone, but realize the people in your life want you to have success and are usually more than willing to help out as they are invested in you and your well-being. So follow up and ask if they ran across anyone they know that could benefit from your service or product. Or, did they see any business that could use your service or product.
Tell Your Story, Bro
Having more than one set of eyes on a problem dwindles down the odds of failure. You have someone who is outside the box looking for you in their day to day lives and then you have yourself. So, now you know we all have a hidden network that can be used today and for the rest of your lives as long as you remember to share your story with anyone who will listen and not be surprised when you get a result.
